JUVEDERM in Moncton, New Brunswick

Young, smooth skin possesses some essential elements – hydration and an elasticity resulting from healthy underlying tissues. Over time, our skin loses both of these elements. Wrinkles and creases are often the visible effects of dehydration in, and volume beneath, the skin. Rather than resorting to cosmetic surgery, many women and men choose to address these issues with facial fillers. Moncton, New Brunswick, plastic surgeon Dr. Jayson Dool provides non-surgical skin rejuvenation with JUVEDERM. This hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler promotes hydration and replenishes volume in support structures, leading to softer, more elastic skin.

Hyaluronic acid, the active ingredient in JUVEDERM, is a substance found naturally in the human body. By restoring volume and promoting hydration, it improves the appearance of:

  • Facial wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Excessively thin lips

How Does JUVEDERM Work?

Dr. Dool will develop an injection plan during your consultation based on your exact needs. He will examine your face and determine the pattern of aging you have experienced, including wrinkles, volume loss, and dehydration.

During your JUVEDERM procedure, Dr. Dool will first clean and sanitize your face in order to prevent infection. You will receive a topical anesthetic, which will prevent discomfort during the injections. Dr. Dool will inject JUVEDERM directly into the treatment areas using a tiny needle. The injections last just minutes, and most patients can resume their normal schedules immediately after their treatment.

The hyaluronic acid in JUVEDERM goes to work quickly, replenishing underlying volume and bringing moisture to the surface. Results last a few months, after which you must undergo repeat treatments to prolong your results.

You will receive an ice pack after your injections, which you can apply to the treatment site to alleviate any discomfort. Take care not to apply excessive pressure to the treated areas, which can displace the hyaluronic acid.

You will likely experience some redness, swelling, and/or bruising following your treatment. These symptoms are only temporary and should generally not be cause for concern.

JUVEDERM Safety & Risks

Risks resulting from JUVEDERM are rare. Allergies are uncommon, as hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body, but allergic reactions to JUVEDERM can occur in select patients. Some patients may develop temporary red bumps at the injection sites.

You may require additional JUVEDERM treatments in order to achieve the results you seek. This is especially true for scars and deeper wrinkles.

Complementary Procedures to JUVEDERM

JUVEDERM treatments often serve as an effective complement to BOTOX Cosmetic injections in order to achieve facial rejuvenation non-surgically. JUVEDERM can also enhance and prolong the results of facial cosmetic surgery procedures such as a facelift or brow lift.

During your consultation, Dr. Dool will discuss the fees for rejuvenation treatments using JUVEDERM. The cost of injections at our Moncton office will depend on the amount of filler you require, as well as the location and number of the treatment sites. In general, JUVEDERM treatments range in cost from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per session.
